National Apprenticeship Week 2021 will take place from 8 to 14 February 2021.
The aim is to shine a light on the amazing work being done by employers and apprentices and recognise how employers of all sizes have stepped up to the challenge during this unprecedented time.
I know from personal experience how amazing apprenticeships are. Mine not only gave me some excellent qualifications but I also gained vital experience through a structured training programme. This formed the foundation of my whole career.
The people and businesses of The Tees would greatly benefit from more apprenticeships in all sectors. Apprentices gain not only knowledge but also the skills and behaviours needed to undertake their chosen career. Employers gain from moulding their workforce whilst they gain highly respected qualifications and training.

Watch this clip (https://youtu.be/jycTTcNbauE) from last year’s Sage Bake Off where we took over the kitchens at the Sage, Gateshead. Our creations not only looked like masterpieces, but they were also delicious.
If you are an apprentice or an employer of apprentices why not join in this year’s Apprentice Bake Off! Bake something that represents what you think of apprenticeships and tell us what apprenticeship you do. Enter by tagging in @AANNorthEast on Twitter. The bakes with the most likes and shares will get to the final where Amazon vouchers are up for grabs.
